Benjamin Hanrahan

I am a technologist. I have been ever since Dad brought home a Epson Apex 286 compatible PC in 1989. My fascination has continued to evolve as technology has evolved. I have 25 years experience in a wide range of Information Communication Technology areas. I’ve covered grass roots support roles such as help desks, through to Client Services positions focused on VIP Clients. I’ve driven I.T. solutions in highly technical Operation roles. And I've managed large I.T. programs.

My I.T. career started in 1997 assembling computers at NCR for a Commonwealth bank PC rollout. I moved into a helpdesk role at Boral business services centre in Parramatta. I arrived at Merrill Lynch just in time for the Y2k circus. Great time to be an IT technician. There was an enormous appetite for change that drove technology. I learnt a lot in a short amount of time. I changed roles from desktop support to trading floor support then network engineer. After a brief tour of Europe I was back in Australia begging for a job. I worked as a I.T. field technician in the Port Kembla steel works before moving to Hewlett Packard as a network analyst. Then onto Macquarie bank where I spent the next 13 years in various different positions and titles but basically I was a technology problem solver. The solutions ranged from quick patches to be applied in 30 seconds or less, all the way through to projects management. The solutions had to be consistently of high quality, concise and well communicated.

I started with Carrington in 2018 as the Business Application. My start in Aged care has been a lot like my start in investment banks. Such an exciting junction in the industry. With the support of an knowledgeable executive team and an experienced Board I've helped developed and deployed a lot of technology.

It's through all of my experience I've cultivated a very clear picture of what I can provide the Aged Care sector to help it to the next stage of its evolution. Given the opportunity I can help direct your data system solutions.
